Waya Energy was founded in April 2019 by faculty and alumni from the Universal Energy Access Laboratory (UEA Lab) of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and the Institute for Research in Technology, Comillas Pontifical University (IIT-Comillas) to transition applied research into commercial software products for the international community.
We provide planning, and comprehensive analysis tools, and engineering design services to utilities, developers, and investors to optimize investment in electricity infrastructure – saving time and money. Waya Energy leverages world-class expertise in power systems modelling, economics, and regulation from its academic origins to provide advanced decision support services that make use of data-centric software suite.
Waya Energy (WE) is a spin-off from the Universal Energy Access Laboratory of the MIT and IIT-Comillas. WE was founded to further, develop and commercialize data-centric decision support computer models and software for governments, utilities, IFI and development agencies, social and private-sector actors in the international community. WE provides disruptive innovation and consultancy services to accelerate and scale-up the achievement of the Sustainable Energy for All targets.
